CURRENCY ACT
This bill has had sufficient time in the Arminian Parliament assembled for discussion and amendment. The deadline for an Arminian Currency is drawing much closer and the need to have this bill enacted is becoming more desperate.
Thus I shall open voting for the Arminian Parliament assembled.
To vote in favour of this bill, vote JA.
To vote in objection to this bill, vote NEIN.
To declare one's presence, vote ABSTAIN.
Voting shall expire in three days from 7 February 2004.

IN PARLIAMENT ASSEMBLED
1. Citation
This act shall be cited as the Currency Act, 2004.
2. Monetary Unit
(1) The monetary unit of Arminy shall be the silubhra.
(2) The denominations of money in the currency of Arminy shall be silubhras and isarnans, the isarnan being one hundredth of a silubhra.
3. Legal Tender
Subject to this section, a tender of payment of money shall be a legal tender if it is made in notes or coins issued by the Central Bank of Arminy pursuant to the Central Bank of Arminy Act intended for circulation in Arminy.
4. Public Accounts and Statements
All public accounts established or maintained in Arminy or any member thereof shall be in the currency of Arminy, and any reference to money or monetary value in any indictment or other legal proceedings shall be stated in the currency of Arminy.
5. Contracts, etc.
(1) Every contract, sale, payment, bill, note, instrument and security for money and every transaction, dealing, matter and thing relating to money or involving the payment of or the liability to pay money shall be made, executed, entered into, done or carried out in the currency of Arminy, unless it is made, executed, entered into, done or carried out in the currency of a country other than Arminy; or a unit of account that is defined in terms of the currencies of two or more countries.
(2) Notwithstanding clause 1, every contract, sale, payment, bill, note, instrument and security for money and every transaction, dealing, matter and thing relating to money or involving the liability to pay money that was made, executed or entered into, done or carried out before February 4, 2004 shall, in so far as anything remained or remains to be or may be executed, done or carried out thereunder on or after that date, be construed and operate without reference to this Act.
6. Valuation
Notwithstanding any other law, where any law of Arminy or any law of the members thereof or any treaty, convention, contract or agreement to which Arminy or any members therof is a party makes reference to
(a) a currency of a country other than Arminy,
(b) a unit of account that is defined in terms of currencies of two or more countries,
(c) silver and/or gold, or
(d) a combination of any of the things mentioned in subclauses a to c,
the Commission or the Minister of Finance and Economics may make regulations specifying, or specifying the means or method of ascertaining, determining or calculating, the equivalent silubhra value of that currency, unit of account, silver, gold or combination thereof.
7. Conversion of Foreign Currencies for Purposes of Customs Laws
For the purposes of the administration, application and operation of the laws relating to the customs, the Commission or Minister of Finance and Economics may make regulations specifying, or specifying the means or method of ascertaining, determining or calculating, the equivalent silubhra value of currencies of countries other than Arminy for a day or any other period or generally.
8. Effect
This act shall enter into effect when passed by the Arminian Parliament and assented to by the Commission.
